Introduction to World Agricultural Science and Technology Grades 9-12  1/2 unit

A basic introductory courses designed to introduce beginning students in Agricultural Science to Global Agriculture. The course also includes a history of FFA, agricultural career development, leadership, communications, and parlimentary procedure.

Applied Agricultural Science and Technology Grades 9-12 1/2 unit

A basic applied course designed to enhance the agricultural comprehension of beginning students in Agricultural Science and Technology. The course includes soils, plants, animals, agricultural construction, food science, supervised occupational experienceprograms, and leadership

Introduction to Agricultural Mechanics Grades 10-12 1/2 unit

A course designed to familiarize the student with basic theory and specialized skills. Skills will be developed in areas of tool identification and safe use, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, masonry, fencing, painting, metal working and welding processes.

Agricultural Metal Fabrication Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 unit

A course to develope skills in meta fabrication processes including hot and cold metal processes, welding out of position, plasma, tig and mig processes. There is normally a large metal project to be completed in the course. Follow the Intro to Ag Mechanics course.

Agricultural Power and Machinery Grades 11-12 1-3 unit

A comprehensive pre-employment laboratory-oriented course designed to develop skills in the maintenance, repair, and recondition of agricultural vehicles and machinery.  The course emphasized basic principles of operation, while including modern, high-tech components, systems monitors, on-board computers, etc.  This class will work hand and hand with the tractor restoration project to determine if the motor or the transmission needs maintenance or overhaul.

Home Maintenance and Improvement Grade 10-12 1/2 unit

A course designed to familiarize the student with basic home maintenance skills. Skills will be developed in areas of home safety, electricity, plumbing, painting, welding processes, and carpentry.

 Agriculture Structures Technology Grade 10-12 1/2

A course preparing students to maintain, evaluate, design, and build agricultural structures using approved construction techniques.Follows the Home Maintenance course.

Wildlife and Recreation Management  Grades 9-12

A course designed to examine the importance of wildlife and outdoor recreation with emphasis on using wildlife.Students may recieve certification in Hunter Education and Boater Education.

Animal Science Grades 9-12 1/2 unit

A course designed to develope knowledge and skills pertaining to the nutrition, reproduction, health and management of domestic animals.

Food Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 unit

A course designed to develope knowledge and skills realted to food science, focusing on the innovation of biotechnology and concern for food borne illness.This class will be directed towards food nutrition, principles of food preservation, labeling, and packaging as well as other quality control issues pertaining to today's food industry.

Meat Science Grades 10-12 1/2 unit

A course designed to develope knowledge and skills related to value-added and food processing and the workplace, and to develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations. This class thoroughly covers the history of the meat industry inspection laws and slaughter regulations.Follows Food Tech class; Pre-requisite to the Meat Lab

Personal Skill Development in Agriculture Grades 10-12 1/2 unit

This course provides oppurtunity for students to learn through hands-on experience how to be a successful worker in the modern workplace. Through actual interviews, students will learn through how to present themselves in a proffesional manner while learnig effective leadership, how to communicateeffectively with groups and individuals, and demonstrate products and Ag. sales techniques in an Ag Trade Show.

Ag Communications Grades 11-12 1/2 unit

This course prepares students for careers in communications by acquiring knowledge of the many media tools, such as radio, photography, videos, and computers. Students will also learn to research factual information and present their findings to group through written and oral communication.

Computers in Agriculture Grades 9-12 1/2 unit

This course is designed to enhance computer skills with emphasis on prsentation software, Students will utilize different forms of media that will help prepare them for a more technical business world. Students Will develope brochures, flyers, slide presentations, video and web pages.

Entreprenuership in Agriculture Grades 9-12 1/2 unit

This course prepares students for careers in agribusiness marketing and management systems through oppurtunities to attain academic skills and knowledge, to acquire knowledge and skills related to agribusiness marketing and management and the workplace, and to develope knowledge and skills regarding career oppurtunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations

Agribusiness Management and Marketing I, II Grades 11-12 1-3 unit

This course provides first-hand Knowledge of sales and marketing in the Meat Industry by utilizing the F.H.S. Meat Market pre-employment lab. Students fill orders, do inventory, customer relations and manage money. The market is soley run and managed by the students.

Meats Processing I Grades 11-12 2 units

Provides pracitcal application of meat processing procedures, including fabrication of red meat, poultry, game, and fish into wholesale and retail cuts. Students practice procedures relating to safe manufacture of foods through hygenic food handling and processing. Students also identify market considerations for meat processing.

Meat Processing II Grade 12 2 units

This course is a continuation of Meats Processing I, and also deals with value-added food processing, curing, and seasoning with empahsis placed on plant management.

CO-OP Grade 12 3 units

This is a co-operative training program between the school district and oustide employment sources.

Radio Broadcasting and Production 1 Grade 11-12 1 unit

This course is designed to introduce the student to the field of broadcast communication, and to provide training and practical experience in utilizing basic on air, copywriting, and productiontechniques while working at the districts radio station.  The student will learn the basic science behind audio, the use and operation of audio production tools, the operation of radio studio equipment, radio production techniques, standard American English diction, articulation, and enunciation, industry standards for radio copywriting, the typical organization structures found in commercial radio stations, the basics of radio programming and formatting, and the organization and government regulations of the broadcast industry.  This course will follow the coherent sequence of Career and Technology courses in the field of Ag Communications/Business.
